The armchairs were already here when I arrived
(2021)
The book-work captures a memory and experience about a place I was in.
The artwork was handcrafted to evoke the format of a travel journal, which it resembles. The landscape—a small village lost on the road to Ourense—is actually the home of a friend, who opened her doors to me under the pretext of helping me with a university project. The space is depicted as a panorama, combining different views of her patio.
The title of the work corresponds to the question that, surprised by its location, I decided to ask him:
Me - “Why are there two armchairs in the middle
from your patio?”
She - “The armchairs were already here
when I arrived.”
